Nanobiotechnology: applications and risks in human-health sector

Ishwar Singh

Abstract

Nanotechnology is a multidisciplinary branch dealing with the production, study and application of ultramicroscopic materials. Nanomaterials exhibit some extra properties over bulk materials due to their small size and high surface area to volume ratio adding a number of advantages. Nanotechnology being a new stream    has a tremendous scope of research in basic as well as applied sciences. This paper is a brief account of some of the applications and risks associated with the use of nanomaterials in health care industry.
