Focus and Scope
The Journal aims to promote and publish research and literature related to disability. The areas covered by the Journal are comprehensive and include all types of disabilities and a wide range of topics/themes such as:
Psychosocial Prospective of Disability
Disability Assessment
Disability Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Â
Disability in Academia
Disability Research
Disability and Social Stigma or Exclusion/Discrimination
Disability in the Context of Development
Disability and Gender
Disability Legislation
Journal of Disability Studies is a scientific, scholarly, and multidisciplinary journal so academician or professionals from various fields - disability studies, sociology, social work, psychology, medical anthropology, health and mental health or any other discipline working on the disability have scope to contribute. Journal also considers voice of the persons with disability and their family members of care givers. Â Â
The Editors will screen all manuscript submissions and if found suitable then articles will be reviewed by two peer reviewers which may take cupules of weeks. The contributors will be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewers' comments within a specified time. Articles accepted would be copy-edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Disability Studies must not be submitted to any other journal at a time and have not been published or accepted for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts lacking originality, serious scientific flaws, or absence of significance of message are rejected. We have strict norms and policies for plagiarism. Plagiarism in any form will not be accepted and simply marks withdrawn for any article. Papers cannot be withdrawn after final acceptance.
